IT IS FINISHED| TRUE BREAD FELLOWSHIP

Greetings everyone from True Bread

This is the time of the year that we will be observing the Spring Holy Days, which are listed in Leviticus 23. The first of the year, and most important, is the Passover. The Passover story begins with the children of Abraham, Issac and Jacob (the Israelites) enslaved in Egypt. You can read the story starting in Exodus 3, up to the Red Sea crossing. It is a powerful story of redemption and liberation with the captives being set free and led out of the land by Moses.

The children of Israel (Jacob) were commanded to kill a lamb on Aviv 14, first month of the Hebrew year, and smear some of the blood on their doorposts of the homes they lived in. The lamb was a one year old male with no blemishes. It was to be kept from the 10th day of the month up until the 14th and then killed “between the evenings”, roughly from 3-5PM as the sun was beginning to get lower in the sky. Then the Israelites were commanded to roast the lamb and eat it “on that night”, when the death angel “passed over” their homes. When the death angel saw the lamb’s blood, it would pass over that house. Thus the “Passover” was started. It was a singularly important event, to be memorialized forever by Israel. Moses told the adults to be able to explain to their children when asked abut the meaning of the service of Passover.

Today, in the new covenant period, we no longer kill lambs on Passover, as our PASSOVER LAMB was already sacrificed for us. “IT IS FINISHED” cried out the Messiah when He died on the stake for our sins as OUR lamb. We still honor and observe this vital day as commanded, on Aviv 15th. Also, we put the leavening out of our homes as commanded, and eat unleavened bread for the full seven day period of the Feast of Passover/Unleavened Bread. As Paul instructs us in 1 Cor 5:6-8, we put OUT the old leavening and put IN the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

In conclusion, Passover is all about the Messiah, who reflects Issac and Abraham, as Abraham is about to kill his only SON. The Angel of the LORD stopped Abraham from killing his son, but the Messiah died as our lamb. We read about this sacrifice being freely given to ALL who will partake of it in John 3. Everyone is familiar with this chapter, especially John 3:16, 17 which state:

“For the Father so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him should
not perish but have everlasting life.

“For the Father did not send His Son
onto the world to condemn the world,
but that the world through Him
might be saved.”

Let’s be sure to embrace the Passover in the manner in which it is to be received, and keep the day Holy and to be reminded of its profound meaning….that pictures the rescue of mankind from pharaoh (satan) and to receive the gift of eternal like, which has now been made available to all who will listen and believe.

“May the LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face
shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His
countenance upon you ,
And give you peace.”

Have a happy and fulfilling Passover.

Keep the faith,

Todd
